Vinicio Meza is a composer, clarinetist and saxophonist from Costa Rica.
He began his Music studies with his father, then he went to the Municipal School of Music in his hometown Paraíso, Cartago, where he began his clarinet studies. Thereafter he continued his Music studies at Conservatorio de Castella and after graduation, he studied for two years at Interlochen Arts Academy, in Michigan, USA. He obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, USA, and his Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from Florida State University in Tallahassee, USA.
He is a composer and arranger of symphonic music, chamber music, jazz and salsa music. Several works have been recorded or commissioned in Costa Rica and abroad.
He has been Clarinet Professor at University of Costa Rica and National University of Costa Rica. He is a member of the Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica and teaches Music Appreciation at the Technological Institute of Costa Rica.
